Good Morning,
What can I say, Spencer is such a joy!!! We love him dearly and can't tell you how thankful we are to the Rocky Mountain Newfoundland Rescue for introducing us to our sweet baby! I saw a bumper sticker the other day that had a picture of a dog's paw that said "Who Rescued Who?" I couldn't agree more! Just to give you an update on Spencer, he is down to 106 pounds!!! The Vet says we need to get him down to 100 but since we've gotten him, he's lost 23 pounds and we couldn't be prouder of him. I've sent you a couple of pictures so you can see how beautiful he is. The one where he's wearing the bandana is from the other day. He had just gotten groomed and I couldn't resist taking a picture before he inevitably would try taking the bandana off himself. The second one is of him on our couch. When we first got him, he wasn't allowed on the couch but then we realized how much we love to cuddle with him. He always sits between my fiance and I so that he can be petted two-fold. Our little guy did experience a setback though. On December 22nd, Spencer suffered a stroke. Luckily, we were at the Vet's office when it happened and because of their quick action and wonderful care, I'm happy to say that he has made a complete recovery. You'd never even know it happened! We have to give him two molecular shots a day but we only have a few weeks of this left (thank goodness). Spencer had been itching his ears incessantly (even though we keep them clean) and the Vet found fox tails deep in his ear canal. After he removed them, Spencer seemed perfectly fine. Once we got him in the car though, he started throwing up and twitching and couldn't stand up. Needless to say, I have never been more upset or worried in my entire life. This dog is a fighter!!! I just wanted to thank you both again for giving us this gift, we truly are blessed!
Sincerely,Kelli
