RMNR was founded with the primary goal of rescuing Newfoundland's in the Co, Utah, NM and Wy. We know Newfoundland's are too gentle and sensitive to sit in shelters, hopefully awaiting adoption, so RMNR was formed on a shoestring budget. Our mission is to make sure no Newfoundland is homeless, neglected, or euthanized in a shelter, in our region or elsewhere. We will exhaust all measures to rescue a Newf, even if its outside our region and no other rescue has stepped in. We have rescued Newfs as far as the Dakota's, Missouri & Nebraska and have families that have come as far as New Hampshire & Tennessee to adopt.
We applaude all Adoptive families along with our Foster Families who truley make a difference and help give our rescue Newfoundlands a second chance at a GREAT LIFE.
There are some purebred Newfs that are so skinny, or so matted and dirty that we really don't know what they are until we get them cleaned up. Newfs come with different head sizes, body types, weights etc, even different coats (one of my Newfs has a curly long coat and the other has a shorter more manageable coat). We rescued what we thought was a mix last December he was obsese, had barely any fur because of severe skin problems and a thyroid condition, and was literally covered in dandruff. After excellent care, he transformed into a very beautiful Newfoundland, and is now in a loving forever home.
